The Green Heart of Europe – Local Government’s Days II in Zamość commune

The Green Heart of Europe - Local Government’s Days II” is another investigation arranged within a project called “The Green Heart of Europe – the promotion of the cultural values and tourist areas of Zamość Commune”. It is organized by Zamość Commune and by the following partners: The Agency of Reginal Development of Połoniny from Slovakia, Stafollo Commune from Italy, Sáro­spa­tak Commune from Hungary, and Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society from Rzeszów.

Zamość commune was visited by the following partners: the mayor of Staffolo Commune – Sauro Ragni, the Deputy Mayor of Sáro­spa­tak – Sikora Attila, the member of Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society from Rzeszów – Łukasz Biedka, the Mayor of Agency of Regional Development of Połoniny from Slovakia - Sva­to­sla­v Hust’ak, representatives and the Headman of Sedli­ská Commune - Joyef Dobrocký. Futhermore, during the Local Government’s Days, Zamość Commune was visited by delegation from Sanok Commune – Secretary - Anna Hałas and Paymaster - Agnieszka Haduch, and by the delegation from Iwano-Frankowe Commune.

The study tour, called “Active Tourism in Roztocze areas”, was the first part of the programme and it was organized on 2nd June 2011. The participants of the tour were as follows: the Farmer’s Wives’ Association from Zamość, Sanok, and Staffolo. They visited the farm Guciów – XIX cottage and barn with ancient equipment and tools, and the exhibition of minerals and fossils. Subsequently, they went to beekeeping farm “Ulik”. The participants became acquainted with the common methods of getting honey and arranging bee yard. Certain kinds of honey were available to guests.

On 3rd June in a day room in Płoskie, Local Seminar II was arranged. People who took part in the event were as follows: The representatives of partners, Councilmen of Zamość Commune, Administrative Commune, Headmasters, Mayor, the representatives of the Farmer’s Wives’ Association, and guests. People who opened the meeting: Ryszard Gliwiński, the Village Mayor, the Headmaster of John Paul II’s School – Leszek Łepik, and The Village Administrator- Tadeusz Kostrubiec. Magda Misztal, the manager of Sport and Tourism Promotion Centre of Zamość Commune, presented the presentation called “One-year cooperation within a project called “The Green Heart of Europe – the promotion of the cultural values and tourist areas of Zamość Commune”. The members from Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Rzeszów presented their own regions. During the break, the participants had a chance to watch the movie about Podkarpacie Province. Subsequently, Piotr Franaszek, Manager of the Department of Promotion and Tourism of the Marhal Office in Lublin, gave lecture on the promotion of Lublin Province.

On 4th June „The Green Heart of Europe – European Games” ,which was organized for the fourth time, took place in Zawada, especially for citizens from Zamość commune. Ryszard Gliwiński, the Village Mayor of Zamość commune, opened the ceremony. Katarzyna Suchowicz from Wólka Panieńska, Klaudia Dudek from Wysokie, Kacper Wójtowicz,
the player of Orlik GLKS Echo Zawada, burnt the torch of the Games. The delegation of members of project “The Green Heart of Europe – the promotion of the cultural values and tourist areas of Zamość Commune” and guests from Iwano-Frankowe Commune from Ukraine also participated in the opening ceremony.

During the Games both family and individual games were played. 412 competitors from 16 Village Councils participated in the competition. The winners were awarded medals and diplomas. As far as team competition is concerned, winners were awarded cups and diplomas.

Football ( seven teams – 54 players) 1st place - GKS Perła Jatu­tów (Adam­czuk Michał, Adam Adam­czuk, Jaro­sław Wol­ski, Grze­gorz Pasieczny, Rafał Tur­czyn, Dariusz Brzycki, Adrian Wój­cik), 2nd place - GLKS Echo Zawada, 3rd place - LKS Roz­pacz Kali­no­wice. Łukasz Gulak was top scorer. Mariusz Sokołowski was the best goalkeeper.

At the end of the games the results were counted in order to classify Village Councils of Zamość commune which took part in particular competitions. The representatives of every Village Council received diplomas and cups.

During the Games children were entertained with a great number of attractions arranged by theater group “Forma” from Białystok. They played Pinokio Theatre. Children had also great fun with animation parachute. What is more, sumo competition was organized, as well as face painting and the performance of people in costumes of protagonists of the book called “Winnie-the-Pooh”.

At the end of games young people from Wysokie, Pniówek, Żdanówek performed modern dance. Subsequently, musicians “ONI” gave a performance.

On 5 June 2011 Cultural Festival “Europe Music” was organized. A youth wind band from a volunteer fire department from Białowola opened the festival. Then, pupils from primary school of Maria Konopnicka from Zawada gave a performance. Participants of Festival: the band called “Happy Housekeepers from Sitaniec Hamlet”, a Family Trio called “WKR Badachowie”, the band “Camerata Belfer” form Sitaniec, A choir “Sitanianie”, bands from Zamość Commune: “Echo Lipska” from Lipsk, “Białowolanki” from Białowola, “Roztoczanki” from Wólka Wieprzecka, and cabaret called “Kabaret Biesiadny Biesiada Polska”.

Dancing group “PACURKA” from Saro­spa­tak was the principal guest at the event. Saro­spa­tak is the partner of Zamość Commune in a project called “The Green Heart of Europe – the promotion of the cultural values and tourist areas of Zamość Commune”.

Children were entertained by Theatre „Forma” with painting faces, tattoos, soap bubbles, teddy bears, inflatable castles.

During the Festival a handicraft fair was arranged. The members of the Farmer’s Wives’ Association who presented themselves came from: Białobrzegi, Chy­ża, Hubale, Jatutów, Bor­ta­tycze-Kolo­nia, Płoskie, Siedliska, Sitniec, Sitaniec-Kolonia, Szopinek, Wierzchowiny, Wólka Panieńska, Wólka Wieprzecka, Wysokie, Zarzecze, Zawada, Żdanówek, Sitaniec Wolica. They presented tableclothes, their handiworks, ornaments, pastries.
