The Green Heart of Europe The Culture of Europe

On 21st July 2011 an educational tour called “The Green Heart of Europe –The Summer Tourist Festival, The culture of Europe” was organized. It was arranged within a project called “The Green Heart of Europe – the promotion of the cultural values and tourist areas of Zamość Commune”. The village major of Zamość Commune was the main organizer of the tour. The Centre of Sport and Tourism of Zamość Commune was its coordinator.

Over 200 people took part in the tour – the young and children from: Skaraszów, Żdanówek, Sitaniec Wolica, Lipsko Kosobudy, Płoskie, Mokre, Żdanów, Sitaniec. During the tour, particular groups visited Krasnobród: the Oratory On The Water, Sanctuary, and the Parish Museum. Moreover, the participants went partially through the Reserve of St Roch which led to the Oratory of St Roch. They visited quarries in Józefów, Tomaszów Lubelski, and, by the way, Music school, Tearoom called “Czajnia”, The Church of the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Eastern Orthodox Church of St Mikołaj.

The last part of the tour took place in a day room in Wierzchowiny. Everybody had a chance to talk about the tour, especially when refreshments and beverages were provided. Village heads, the Village Council, and chairwomen of the farmer’s wives’ association from Zamość Commune took part in the organization of the tour.
